So, its a bit of a controversial isn’t it? I’ll bet you are reading thinking yuk, who wants to go to Benidorm?? Its full of “larger louts” and fish, chips and mushy peas??!!

Yes, there are certain parts of town that offer that kind of thing if that is what you are after but it doesn’t have to be like that.

I have just spent 2 weeks at my holiday home in la Nucia, a 10 minute drive inland from the Benidorm Coast and there is so much more than that to offer. If you hire a car there are some lovely seaside resorts to visit all within a 30 minute drive.

We spent a day on the beach by the port in Calpe and then had a lovely paella for 4 with fried mini octopus for starters and then a paella with a jug of sangria for around £60.

Another evening we ventured into Altea and walked up the einding little streets to the church at the top surrounded by lovely little craft shops where the local tapas bars fill the square with their tables and chairs so you can see the stunning view along the coast whilst enjoying a local vino.

We spent a few nights in Benidorm Old Town, wondering through the walking street sampling the tapas and watching the world go by.

In recent times the promanade which stretches from Old Benidorm right into the next resort of La Cala Finestrat has been refurbished and is a lovely walk in the sea breeze.

If you would like to find out more about Benidorm and its surrounding areas then come and see me, I’m happy to talk about it all day……If I’m not already there!
